Blood pressure is a measure of the force of a person’s blood against the walls of their arteries as it flows through their body. Everyone has a blood pressure. But when your blood pressure is too high it can be a problem.

Stress is a pretty common occurrence among adults, and holiday time can add to it. But chronic stress- stress that does not subside, but rather persists- can put pressure on the body that can lead to negative side effects.

As Dr. Shillingford focuses much of his practice on performing gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and lap band surgery (which requires patients to be obese or overweight), his patients are at a higher risk of heart issues, including high blood pressure and stroke.
